Conversion Kits for Tire Curing Presses
Automotive
requirements over the last few decades have had a profound impact on the
construction and composition of tires. Tire profiles, sizes, uniformity
levels, economics, and road performance have all changed, yet many tires
are still being cured in presses that were built twenty, thirty and even
forty years ago. Tire manufacturers continue to look for ways to extend
the life of these presses. One method is to install conversion packages
that allow for curing the newer tire types and reduce process costs.
Rogers offers
standard as well as customized conversion kits to meet these new requirements.
Some of these conversions are:
- Increase
the press opening or 'daylight' to accommodate green tire built on wider
drums and cured tires with wider widths
- Segmented
Mold Operator (SMO) kits to allow for use of this type mold in older
presses
- Conversion
from Steam-Dome to Platen Cure in larger tire presses
- Convert
from Relay-logic controls to PLC or PC-based operation
- Introduce
inert gas to former steam shaping and curing
Rogers is
the best source for solutions to extending press life and capability in
the wake of new tire manufacturing and performance requirements.
